THE FOCUS HOPES TO INSPIRE POSITIVE SOCIAL CHANGE. HOW? BY POINTING OUR CAMERAS AT THE ISSUE AND FOCUSING ON WHAT NEEDS OUR ATTENTION.
The Focus is aligning social justice, environmental awareness, and beyond with photojournalism. The aim is to spread awareness on important issues in our Bay Area communities today through photography. Charlotte Rosario, founder of The Community Photobooth, created The Focus in hopes of inspiring other Bay Area youth to attend community events with their cameras and expose themselves to these topics in our world today. Not only will viewers of the site learn more about local and global issues, but so will the photographers themselves. Periodically, the site focuses on notable topics—issues that demand more attention and community-involvement—and a collection of photos are featured alongside a corresponding charity so viewers can easily take action.
