Hi, I'm Irene Chen, and this is my Photobooth! I’m a current Junior attending Burlingame High School, and Editor of the Yearbook which is where I first discovered my passion for photography. I tend to gravitate towards sports/action photography–sideline photos using a longer lens (70-200mm or 100-400mm), but I’m also well-versed in portrait photography–portraits allow for more communication between subject and photographer as well as instant feedback so the end result is better catered to your expectations. When it comes to photo style and editing, my camera creates a blurred background that really draws attention to the subject, and through editing, I can accentuate certain colors to create a more lively and dynamic photo. On the flip side, I’ve found that converting photos to black and white and adjusting shadows and contrast is a great way to emphasize the emotion and impact of a subject–it all depends on the look and feel you’re going for!
